A labour inspector can walk in any day. Be ready.
Warehouses, workshops, factories, shops, transport companies and practices all fall under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. If an inspector from the Department of Employment and Labour finds gaps, you can be ordered to stop work, fined or held liable. We put the paperwork, appointments and plans in place before that happens.

The terms, explained.
Safety work comes with its own language. Here is what the most common terms mean.

- H&S representatives
- Employees appointed to represent their colleagues on health and safety. Required where more than 20 people are employed.
- COIDACompensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act
- The law under which workplace injuries and diseases are reported and compensated.
- Construction safety file
- The health and safety file a contractor must keep on site under the Construction Regulations.
- Fall protection plan
- A plan required by the Construction Regulations for work at height, setting out how falls will be prevented.
- IBRAIssue-based risk assessment
- A risk assessment for a specific change, incident or concern in the workplace.
- TBRATask-based risk assessment
- Identifies and controls the risks of one specific task before the work starts.
Good questions, straight answers.
Who inspects my business?
Inspectors from the Department of Employment and Labour. They can visit without warning, especially after a complaint or an injury, and can issue notices to fix problems or stop work until it is safe.
Which businesses do you work with?
Any workplace under the OHS Act: warehousing and logistics, food distribution, manufacturing, construction, transport, retail, hospitality, healthcare and practices.
What does the free OHS Act compliance check include?
We look at your legal appointments, risk assessments and safety file, by video call or at your office, and give you a written list of what is missing. If you want us to fix it, we quote you first.
Do you compile construction safety files?
Yes. We compile safety files under the Construction Regulations, including H&S plans, fall protection plans and method statements, and contractor safety files to your client's requirements.
Why would a mining consultancy help my business?
Mines have some of the toughest safety inspections in the country. We bring that standard, and that attention to detail, to your workplace.
How do you charge?
You get a written, fixed quote per document or per project before any work starts, so you can get budget approval with no surprises. The first check is free.
Can you certify us for ISO 45001, 14001 or 9001?
No. Certification audits are done by an accredited certification body. We implement the system with you and do your internal audits, so you are ready when the certification body comes.
